Large Industrial Gearbox Applications & Drive Solutions
Large industrial gearboxes are critical for heavy-duty drive systems that demand high output torque, controlled speeds, and continuous continuous power transmission.
Because system reliability hinges on exact mechanical alignment, gearboxes must be precisely matched to the driven machine, load cycles, thermal constraints, and mounting footprints. Our drive solutions are designed and manufactured in compliance with international engineering standards (AGMA / ISO / DIN), delivering reliable performance across mining, cement, steel, power generation, material handling, and marine industries globally.
Applications by Industry
Mining & Mineral Processing
Mining drives endure heavy continuous loads, high ambient dust, and severe material shock.
Driven Equipment: Belt conveyors, overland conveyors, jaw/cone crushers, apron feeders, bucket elevators, grinding mills (ball/SAG), stackers, reclaimers, and hoists.
Cement & Building Materials
Continuous 24/7 production requires highly reliable speed reducers across all process stages.
Driven Equipment: Ball mills, vertical roller mills, rotary kilns, crushers, bucket elevators, clinker conveyors, and heavy-duty feeders.
Steel & Metallurgy
Metal processing involves extreme peak loads, rapid start-stop cycles, reversing operations, and thermal radiation.
Driven Equipment: Hot/cold rolling mills, continuous casters, overhead cranes, slab/coil handling equipment, furnace drives, and descaling pumps.
Power Generation
Auxiliary drive systems require high running efficiency and strict vibration control.
Driven Equipment: Cooling tower fans, coal handling conveyors, pulverizer feeds, boiler feed pumps, and flue gas dampers.
Bulk Material Handling & Marine
Port and offshore operations demand high drive density and resistance to harsh environmental corrosion.
Driven Equipment: Ship unloaders, port cranes, deck winches, mooring systems, screw conveyors, and offshore handling systems.
Custom Gearbox Engineering & Drop-In Replacements
New Equipment Projects (OEM)
We support new machine development from initial drive sizing through complete integration.
Required Data for Sizing: Driven equipment type, motor power (kW/HP), input/output speeds (RPM), target gear ratio, service factor, shaft configuration, mounting orientation, and dimensional limits.
Replacement Gearboxes (MRO)
Replacing legacy gearboxes does not require an identical OEM match. We supply drop-in replacements compatible with major global drive brands, optimized for your current site conditions.
Minimal Information Needed: Existing gearbox model/brand, nameplate photo, motor power, shaft dimensions, and mounting hole footprint. If technical drawings are unavailable, a nameplate photo is sufficient for initial evaluation.
Custom Engineering Capabilities
When standard catalog units do not fit your space or dynamic criteria, custom options include:
- Non-standard gear ratios and specialized shaft diameters/keys
- Custom cast or fabricated housing dimensions for exact drop-in fitment
- Modified shaft configurations (right-angle, parallel, inline, hollow)
- Specialized internal lubrication, forced cooling, and high-temp sealing systems
Key Selection Parameters Checklist
Before final specification, drive systems are evaluated across six core technical criteria:
Application & Machine Type: Specific equipment driven and operating load characteristics.
Power & Speed: Motor power rating, input speed, target output speed, and total gear ratio.
Torque Profile: Nominal operating torque, peak starting torque, and potential shock loads.
Duty Cycle & Service Factor: Daily operating hours, stops/starts per hour, and required AGMA/ISO service factors.
Mechanical Alignment: Shaft orientation (parallel, right-angle, vertical), mounting position, and spatial boundaries.
Environmental Conditions: Ambient operating temperature range, airborne dust, humidity, or corrosive exposure.
